This is supposed to be about sewing, right? Friend of ours graduated from college, had a party. We don't usually do presents since we'd go broke buying a gift for everyone at church where dh pastors. But this girl has been a good friend and babysitter for our kids, so I had a moment of inspiration and made a little handbag for her. Ingredients: pink placemat from stash (not the kitchen stash - the sewing stash of placemats I save for sewing bags!), handles from same stash, scrap of new fabric for the ruffled flower (gathered with serger on both sides, folded wrong sides together lengthwise, then rolled into a circle shape, button, coordinating green cotton yarn crocheted into a chain sewed on by machine into an "M" shape for her initial. Cute, eh?
